Kuriakose was recruited to the Indian Revenue Service in 1970, almost an unattainable feat to the common man at that time. He has proven his mettle dedicating his prowess in varied designations in the Income Tax Department and retired as the Chief Income Tax Commissioner of Kerala in 2006. The rich and resourceful experience in administering direct tax laws has made him a maestro of the same. He has also served as the Assistant Director of Enforcement for four years in the Enforcement directorate and utilized the tenure to become an expert in foreign exchange laws. He also had a stint in the Kerala Agricultural Income Tax & Sales tax Appellate Tribunal as a Member (Accounts) for about three years.
He has a Master’s degree in Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law. His long-winding experience has not exhausted his spirits which makes him still very active in the academic field. With his zest for knowledge, he acquired his Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property Laws from IGNOU. He enjoys rendering advices on serious direct tax issues and helping clients on tax management.
